Geoffrey Plourde is a Wikimedian who has been around since May of 2006. In real life, he is a high school senior/honor student at a public charter high school in California. With Wikimedia, he does many things depending on the project.

At Wikibooks, he writes on the subjects of US History and Wilderness First Aid. Geoffrey has about six years of education in US History, including AP US History. He can see a future where Wikibooks are used in schools and works constantly towards that goal, by rewriting US History to be in line with state and college standards. Wilderness First Aid is another of Geoffrey's passions. As a Boy Scout for two years, he received training in the subject in accordance with Scouting principles. He was awarded the Webelos Readyman Activity Badge, the First Aid Merit Badge, the Emergency Preparedness Pin, in addition to a first aid certificate from the American Red Cross. It is his dream that Wilderness First Aid becomes a crown jewel and a hallmark of the wonder of open collaboration.
