Mambelfish reported problems[edit | edit source]

source

  • The language switcher appears when you add <?php mosLoadComponent( 'mambelfish' );?>

at the place where you wish in your template.

  • You can also just use the module (if you have installed it) and place it at any module position that you like (and that you have published) - but as far as I know the module just uses the Component ;-)
  • about the languages, that don't change... have you checked the URL? at the end there should be the parameter lang=XX ... if you see only 'lang=' and nothing more you just have to type an identification code of the languages in your mambelfish configuration [components-mambelfish-language configuration]
  • Have you checked your language configuration in the Mambo Backend?

(Components > Mambelfish > Language Configuration)

I have installed Mambelfish 1.5 in Mambo 4.5.2.1. Also installed the mamblefish module and the frontend mambot. Installed French and Portuguese languages via Admin -> Site Languages. Activiated the languages -Components -> mambelfish ->language configurations; then set the iso for each language (en, fr, pt). To translate, went to Components -> Mambelfish ->Translate Then selected a language and the menu clicked on a menu item to translate it. No translation occured. There are 2 icons beside the textfield; the first when clicked simply copies the English menu to the translation field. The other icon deletes. Everything seems to have gone well, EXCEPT the translation.

RE: Mambelfish won't translate [ reply ] 2005-07-04 11:37 Hi,I have same problem. I think it's php-version since Mablefish worked ok when I had php version 4.3.11 after updating to 4.4 series mamblefish didn't work anymore and I had those two images on the traslate page also. 2005-07-05 11:22 Yes it did work! Now I have Mambo 4.5.2 with Mambelfish 1.5 component runnig on php 4.3.11 and it works ok. I dont know what was the problem but I try to figure it out and write a patch against it.

I have a complete new mambo version 4.5.2.3 installed. I started in the backend to install mambelfish.

- Mambelfish_1.5.zip with the component installer - Mbf_module.zip with the module installer - Mbf_searchbot.zip with the mambot installer

The installation of the components, modules and mambot files went successful. Then I patched the component using the corepatch 4.5.2 from the mamboforge. This step I didn't before. But it doesn't matter wheather patched or not patched the load of the language files using Site ->Languages_Install function doesn't work.

This function requests again a “Upload Package File” and alternatively in the line below a “Install from directory” facility referring as default to my local directory: C:\Apache2\Apache2\htdocs\mambo\administrator\components\com_installer\language. None of the upload packages did work as well as the installation from the C:\Apache2\Apache2htdocs\mambo\administrator\components\com_installer\language directory.

What is the name of the requested file, which I have to choose and where I can find it. I followed exactly the procedures of the readme although it is not mentioned that the modules and the mambot have to be installed as well.

Again it is a complete new mambo installation as provided from the mamboforge server with the default template and the sample data.

Please tell me the name of the file to be keyed in in order to get the language files loaded.
