[edit] Introduction
With the advance in computer graphic and 3D modeling, it's just a logical step to begin to modeling our world in 3D. Currently, there are quite few 3D applications with 3D models build for their special needs. Follow the open source trend of thoughts, a free 3D model repository can really help save the resources and advance the human race. To take one step further and bring the 3D object to live(e.g. an elephant), we can add states and method to the object and allowing it to interact with environment (variables).
Actually there are scientist who model our world as a big computer.Remeber
that is only a method. Please do not confuse the reality with method as happend for quantum physics. To be more precise the question is "Do we have some
sort of law for information and variaty?"; I mean do we have conservation of information generators? Ok after all this philosophical stuff let's be a little practical. We can not design a unified model that works in every situation. But we can define a nuified rule of interaction and we call it justice. Let's put an example: Consider we have two different models one is sort of ball and string model of the body of a car and a thermodynamic model of the engine of a car. Clearly the thermodynamic model needs much more time for each cycle(dt). Is it fair to give it much more time? Maybe we could neglect its violation of conservation of energy(due to our errors) and deprive it of its time so it could be in sync with the body model. You want to resemble Allah in creation. But remember that God is fair.
[edit] Goal
Model the universe with re-usable 3D objects with associated properties and methods.
[edit] A model
MS Zoo Tycoon game is a good example.
[edit] Thoughts on the development
This project will require specialty from all fields and it covers the whole universe. To help develop the project, it can be a good idea to establish a knowledge tree the links to all the knowledge we have about the universe and this is where the wiki can take its place. The wiki tree can use the common knowledge branch structure:
[edit] Physics/Chemistry
Astronomy - big objects - Newtonian
Particles - quantum - representation should consider what or how to model "matter-waves" with certain fundamental properties: 1. attractive property due to their mass/energy (gravity) 2. property which has a symmetry with the first but which is also related to the massless waves that mass "sends" to itself (charge/photons) 3. a property that means the matter-waves become "entangled", or added together (superposition) 4. a property which might not exist?

Each node of the tree can have an associated implementation node that describes the model and is used to build the reference implementation.

Note: when adding links above, please follow the Wikibooks:Naming policy. Design "some ergodic space which models entropy and contains quantised mass/energy"
