[edit] Summary of grammar topics
A summary of the grammar topics discussed in the podcast. But:
- Readers would still have to listen to the podcast for the actual explanations.
- Many grammar features are already summarized by the vocabulary lists.
- Some grammar topics are mentioned in the lesson index.
- Specifying grammar topics will often use vocabulary which is challenging for readers. Thus this summary might do more harm than good.
[edit] More images and links
More images and more links to Wikipedia.
- Makes sense on some pages, on others there is a problem with the layout.
- Links to Wiktionary.
- Every Spanish word could be hyperlinked to the entry in the Wiktionary; thus, the layout wouldn't change at all.
- Makes a lot of sense to me.
- But this will take some time. Currently my priority are additional lessons.
[edit] Grammar overview
A grammar overview about regular, irregular, and reflexive verb conjugation in present tense and imperative; personal pronouns (subject, direct object, indirect object, reflexive)
- Makes a lot of sense but it would be best to include example lines from the dialogues and link to the specific lessons; thus, it might be better to wait until more lessons are included
- This grammar overview should also include very basic topics such as gender and number of nouns, articles, and adjectives. --Martin Kraus (talk) 10:05, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Common phrases
A page with very common phrases
- How should this be organized? There are probably not enough suitable lines to fill a reasonable large hierarchy of topics.
- Should anything be explained on this page? Or should the page just link to the lessons? In this case: shouldn't this functionality be offered by the table of contents sorted by "main topic"? If there are explanations: how would they differ from the ones on the lesson page?
- Another problem is that many of the common phrases are only mentioned by Liliana; thus, additional audio clips would be necessary. But then the whole structure would be less clear.
- Let's give up the idea of a page with common phrases. The dialogue index and the lesson index sorted by "main topic" cover most of the offered functionality. --Martin Kraus (talk) 10:05, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Forums
A forum page for discussions and comments by readers for each lesson
- The usual "discussion" page is for discussions of co-authors, it's not a very good place for discussions of readers. (Of course, there is some overlap.)
- This appears to be a very good idea (although I'm not sure whether or when readers will actually use it).--Martin Kraus (talk) 10:20, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
- Done.--Martin Kraus (talk) 20:30, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Dialogue index
A index of dialogue lines: audio player, Spanish text (collapsible), English translation (collapsible), link to lesson (maybe number of words, number of line)
- Could be used to test listening and translating from Spanish to English and vice versa, in particular for non-newbies users
- Helps readers to find lessons with new vocabulary/idioms/phrases --Martin Kraus (talk) 22:20, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
- Done. --Martin Kraus (talk) 21:57, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
