Technologies for Rural Development
From Wikibooks, the open-content textbooks collection
The goal of this project is to create a book or a series of books that could be used to educate children about processes and technologies that can improve the lives of people in poor or disadvantaged communities, while respecting their local environment.
When working on this project, remember that it is aimed at children. It must be simple and easily understood while being quite accurate. Use technical vocabulary when you need to, but don't use big words where simpler language would work.

[edit] Translations
The goal of this project is to inform people and especially children in rural communities of technologies that could improve their way of living.
To achieve that goal translating the text into many languages will be an important. As the document evolves it will be probable that each translation will differ from the original English text, in the early stages of the project that would not matter. However, before a text in a language other than English should be deemed complete, it should coincide with the English text. To achieve this either the text in question or the English text could be updated. In case of dispute the English text would prevail as stated in the GNU license.
