In order to get started, you will need:

   * An XML editor. Download NetBeans IDE here if you haven't done yet.

Is this right? An IDE seems like overkill for XML editing.

Can you recommend a simpler (free tool)?

Also, please explain why NetBeans IDE is being recommended, so I can understand why...thanks

Get rid of them. They clutter the layout, and aren't referred to in the text

The tables of code samples and the tables of element types need to be converted to wiki markup.
