This artical could definately benefit from some images, especially diagrams of the Windows system architecture. --Whiteknight 22:36, 16 September 2005 (UTC)

Update by Hexed321 00:01, 28 June 2006 (UTC) : I've fixed several inaccuracies and added a little content. Most of this revolves around the functionality of the native API and how it works: for example, the NT and ZW calls are identical, stuff like that. I'm also wondering what the "greater purpose" of this page should / could / would be. 90% of it can be partitioned off into a section as "System Architecture". I'd also love to see some comments on RPC and COM or other products that Windows offers. They deserve a place on this page, because they're darn hard to comprehend without a proper reference to work with.

Yeah, there is alot more information that this book/page really should cover, and we just haven't had the time to add it. Let's definately add in some stuff about RPC and COM (although i don't think we need to go all nuts with COM+, DCOM, MTS, OLE, etc...) We can even section some of the material off into another page, if you think it's a good idea. If you don't want to do the dirtywork yourself, let me know what you want moved and where, and I will take care of it. --Whiteknight(talk) (projects) 00:40, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
Actually, there is a section towards the end for COM. I also added in a heading for RPC, although I currently don't have any references on me that I can use to fill in that section. --Whiteknight(talk) (projects) 00:44, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

This article mentions nothing about DOS or the Disk Operating System which windows was based on for eg: DOS 6.22 & earlier versions.
