[edit] Fact Checking and Citation
I went hunting for help on this and came up with:
- Wikipedia:Wikipedia:WikiProject_Fact_and_Reference_Check
- Wikipedia:Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Fact_and_Reference_Check
- WikiPedia:Cite_sources
Here is what I think are the guiding principals
- Every fact in this book needs to be checked.
- We need to know which facts have been checked.
- The best way to flag facts as checked is to provide the citation.
- The citation is credible evidence that the fact was actually checked.
Based on the work they are starting on at Wikipedia, I have come to the following conclusions about a practical approach
- Create a reference with the {{an}} template [1]
- Create a ==References== section to contain the references
- Use the #{{Anb}} to create the reference
- Refer to the Wikipedia Fact and Reference Check WikiProject for links to examples. Especially their FAC of the week.
