Talk:Visual Basic .NET
From Wikibooks, the open-content textbooks collection
The book is supposed to be about VB.Net not about bashing VB6. --kwhitefoot 22:21, 3 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] GDI+
Maybe someone could do a section on GDI+ as there is NOTHING on the GDI+ page and it is something I find I use a lot in VB.NET Gaffers
[edit] OOP
There needs to be more on object oriented programming. Perhaps a short introduction to OOP in the description of VB.NET and why it is important to learn? I already know VB6, so I am used to operators, variables, loops, etc. If you are going to discuss VB6, perhaps give some examples of changes to VB.NET that outdated what was used in VB6. Like the On Error Goto structure is not to be used for error trapping, and that Try/Catch/Finally/End Try structure is used instead. Perhaps also mention how true and false values are handled differently as are boolean expressions, which can wreck code that worked in VB6 but works differently in VB.NET. --Orion Blastar 04:28, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Can we add a section on controls?
And then move the textbox module to the controls section? --Dresdnhope 18:16, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] de:Visual Basic .NET
In March, I have started a German Wikibook about Visual Basic .NET. It has already got about twenty chapters, which are, well, a bit more detailed. Perhaps some German-speaking users might be interested in translating contents from the German to this wikibook. -- de:Benutzer:Stefan Majewsky -- 89.53.31.175 16:55, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
