I saw a powerpoint that had the seven wonders of the world - more abstract concepts of hearing, seeing, tasting, smell, touch, laugh, and love It might make a nice compare / contrast in the book - Just an idea.

I'd recommend some sort of "looking forward" section, that goes through some of the more prominent things put forward as "modern wonders of the world", such as the Taj Mahal (not all that recent, but certainly more recent that greek times), the Grand Canyon, and others.
