Talk:The Linux Kernel
From Wikibooks, the open-content textbooks collection
Hi!
I think that merging this book with "Updating the Linux kernel" is probably not such a good idea. This book and "Inside Linux Kernel" is made for developers and "Updating the Linux kernel" for users. I think that a Link is a better idea.
[edit] Clarification
This is quite an interesting page. But what does:
cat /proc/cmdline arch/i386/boot/bootsect.S arch/i386/kernel/head.S: calls start_kernel In init/main.c: start_kernel, rest_init, init, run_init_process
refer to? The meaning of the other boxes is immediately apparent either. --Remi0o 05:51, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] merge
I suggest merging Inside Linux Kernel into The Linux Kernel. As far as I can tell, both books talk about the same topic with the same target audience. --DavidCary (talk) 04:37, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
