The goal of this project is to create a book or a series of books that could be used to educate children about processes and technologies that can improve the lives of people in poor or disadvantaged communities, while respecting their local environment.

When working on this project, remember that it is aimed at children. It must be simple and easily understood while being quite accurate. Use technical vocabulary when you need to, but don't use big words where simpler language would work. The goal of this project is to create a book or a series of books that could be used to educate children about the processes that can improve the lives of people from poor or disadvantaged communities, while respecting their local environment.

[edit] "Rural" "UnderDeveloped" "Poor" ?

Just a suggestion: There are significant efforts underway in "Developed" countries such as the USA, based on Rural environments and Rural concerns. Many of the Technologies developed in an earlier era (and now being re-developed and improved)are directly applicable to other "Rural" environments. This is especially true in the Energy area. Many efforts, such as efficient cook stoves and wood-powered engines for irrigation and electricity generation, are international efforts. So perhaps this subject could include efforts in 'developed' countries, as appropriate..
