Use singular pronouns (or something else other than plural pronouns) when referring to one person.
Using a plural pronoun is confusing. For example, in the following:
- ... the leader and follower come together in a sort of
- closed position and the leader redirects the follower's
- momentum to send them back out.
it's not clear when the leader is sending the follower back out or sending both of them (the leader and the follower) back out.
