I thought this was a very good essay; however I did have a few questions. Some of your citings are found in the middle of the sentence while some are at the end. I'm not sure which way you were trying to do. Also, the wording in your essay question is a little confusing. I would put the "why" at the end of the question instead of in the middle. In one of your multiple choice questions you asked about the Sputnik. Was the Sputnik talked about in your essay? Aside from these small points I really liked your essay. [edit] Essay Question Answer

I was thinking about it, and am not sure it's a good idea to give an answer for these essay questions here. Since this is a textbook, students may think that this answer is "the" answer rather than "an" answer. What if we moved this answer to the discussion page? Otherwise, we could provide another answer to the question. What does everyone think about that?

[edit] wording

Hello. I think that your article is very informative, however in my opinion I agree with Kcrad that sometimes your wording can be a little confusing. For example when you say in the second paragraph something like the American philosophy has been that of essentialism. I think that it would be better if you just said the typical american philosophy is essentailism (or whatever it was). I just suggest this because I know that I've always been criticized by my english teachers for using wordy language like that, also they tell me its bad grammar. Just a suggestion though...
