Talk:Singing
From Wikibooks, the open-content textbooks collection
I think that there isn't enough content to justify the segmentation of this book, all of these should be merged, or most.
Also, this needs more exercises, like singing warmup exercises, learning to be on-key, learning to stick with a harmony part. Any professional advice on how to be recorded well, how to best vocalize into a microphone would be good. I have noticed that some people who practice are able to not produce any static on the same microphones the rest of us sound very buzzy on. 160.94.120.197 18:46, 9 November 2005 (UTC)lotusduck
"Many cases of people improving their singing ability has shown this: sure, you might not be capable of becoming the next Britney Spears ..."
Hah.
It would make sense to me to site someone who is actually skillful and respected within the music world. Maybe Pavarotti? Maybe even Mariah Carey. I don't really know the "who's" of the singing arena, but I start to question whether the book actually has any merit when I read Britney Spears as a pinnacle of achievement in terms of ability.
[edit] Dire
This is awful. If ever a project could destroy itself before it got off the ground, this one is trying, really trying to. Please see Wikibooks:Neutral_point_of_view and note that Wikibook's has high standards, this project simply just doesn't meet any of them. Don't think this should be an easy ride to your ideal of what singing is. POV is not allowed here either.--I'll bring the food 23:21, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] ew
The tone of every single sentence here is just so arrogant, pretentious, and off-putting.
[edit] So fix it already
This is wiki. Just quit whinging and get on with it.
