[edit] Remarks for writers

[edit] Creating empty pages?

I don't consider it to be useful, as it mixes up which pages actually were or weren't written. --Filip Dominec 17:36, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

I agree with Dominec. I prefer using Big Buckets First. If no one objects, I plan to make a single "logic family" page that briefly describes all obsolete logic families. Then delete the one-page-per-family pages that are all currently empty. Perhaps someday that "logic family" page will get so huge that we eventually split it up one-page-per-family, but in the meantime, I think it's better to keep them together. --DavidCary 02:45, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] New design of main page

What about copying the design from the-same-but-czech project at [1]? --Filip Dominec 17:55, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Yes, that looks lovely. Please do copy the design and images from that wikibook. --DavidCary 02:29, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Done, but needs a lot of improvements yet. And to translate a lot of text from [Czech http://cs.wikibooks.org/wiki/Praktická_elektronika]. --Filip Dominec 08:47, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Merge with LearnElectronics

Symbol oppose vote.svg Oppose I don't consider "practical electronics" to be synonymous with learning electronic theory. Practical electronics is about making real-life circuits that work - an understanding of how electronics work on the most basic level (such as the workings of a pn junction or the integrating behaviour of a capacitor) should not be required. In my opinion, learnElectronics should be merged with "Electronics" if anything, although perhaps it has more value as it stands as a separate "Basic Electronics" book. Symbol oppose vote.svg Oppose Inductiveload makes a good point - we're talking about howtos opposed to **do this**. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hathaway design (talkcontribs) 21:35, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Merge with Electronics Workshop Manual

Symbol support vote.svg Support I would say that the two books are identical in scope. Since Practical Electronics is much more developed and has had much more work done on it, I suggest merging from Electronics Workshop Manual. Inductiveload (talk) 18:00, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
