Talk:Non-Programmer's Tutorial for Python/Front matter

From Wikibooks, the open-content textbooks collection

Jump to: navigation, search

I see there are two versions of this tutorial on Wikibooks: this one and another user's reworking of it which is linked to from the wiki's Programming Language Survey page (http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Computer_programming).

I prefer this version as it is written in a direct, plain language suitable for teaching new users, especially if they are also non-native English speakers. In fact, this tutorial is the only Python intro I've seen that maintains this standard of accessibility. I don't think the second author is justified in presenting his/her version as an improvement over this one.

[edit] The other Python Language

The other python language is a bit more advanced, and harder to learn [no tutorials to date] but we've managed to find an excerpt of a conversation in motion.

"Hsssssss.." "Hssshsssssssssss.." "Hssshss!"

Sadly this was removed as nonsense. I left it in because I thought it was funny, but I am not going to re-add it to the article. Jrincayc 02:39, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
