Talk:Microcontroller
From Wikibooks, the open-content textbooks collection
Both pages cover the same subject, Merging them seems a good idea, especially since the one in robotics hasn't been modified in some time now. --Patrik 09:03, 29 September 2005 (UTC)
Sure, merging seems reasonable. Most things one uses a microcontroller for could conceivably be thought of as a robot sub-assembly. (There are a few exceptions, such as the Bike Computer). Should we make things like PIC and Atmel AVR and 8051 as mere pages (or perhaps subsections) in the Microcontroller book? (in other words, rename them to Microcontroller:PIC and Microcontroller:Atmel AVR and Microcontroller:8051). --DavidCary 04:44, 17 October 2005 (UTC)
- I do vote that this book get's merged into the Robotics book. Eventually I would like to start another book on "Microprocessor Systems", or something similar that will also touch on Microcontrollers, however. --Whiteknight TCE 18:40, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Embedded Systems book
I have put forth a motion that this book should be merged into the Embedded Systems book. by merging this book into a book dedicated to topics about microprocessors and microcontrollers, the robotics book will be free to link to this resource, if needed. --Whiteknight TCE 02:00, 7 November 2005 (UTC)
