I think it would be a good idea to remove the mention of the word "dimention" in the discussion of "some familliar fields" as this word has not yet been defined.

I wonder why a vector in R^2 is written as two numbers above each other and not just as (x,y), which is conform with the definition of R^2. Maybe it is because of the interpretation as a "column vector", which by the way is formally not an element of R^2?Nijdam 21:49, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
