This is a pretty funny thing: kdenlive running in gnome. Not a problem, but it'd make more sense running in KDE -kyle H
[edit] Bad English makes the app look unprofessional
I've just installed and run Kdenlive.
It comes up with a dialogue saying "This is the first time you run Kdenlive, please define your preferred settings, they can always be adjusted later from the Settings dialog."
That's three sentences, separated with commas. You must separate sentences with full stops. Also, after saying "this is the nth time" in English, you must use the present prefect tense, i.e. "you have run", not the present simple tense. Finally, "dialogue" is so spelt, and not the way you have it.
I went to bugs.kde.org to file a report, but it appears that this is not an official KDE app. 61.68.188.79 (talk) 12:58, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
- Update: when I chose a video format (I just wanted standard PAL, but there seems no way to select that) and clicked to continue, the app crashed. Here's the backtrace:

Have you realised that this is wikibooks, where we document usage, and not a support forum? Have you read Kdenlive/Reporting bugs? You ought to. --Grin (talk) 13:33, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Notes on updating to 0.7
- transition crossfade is now luma (or wipe, actually...)
- transitions seems to default from higher to lower strip, so the examples work with opposite order or reversed transition (eg. title on strip 1, movie on strip 0)
- icons are different (nicer :))
