[edit] Pegword Example

The pegword example given of a shopping list is more appropriate for a link system. I cannot think of a good reason why you would want to recall the third item in your shopping list. I suggest the pegword example be rewritten using U.S. Presidents, or some other example where order is useful.

After a little more thought, I realized that there's only one additional association required when using pegs vs. links, and the link between the first item and the number one actually helps you remember what the first item in the list was. In retrospect, I withdraw my comment, but we should add some text describing this rationale.

[edit] I think the "Drugs and Vitamins" section should be moved.

While they may affect memory and concentration, they are not mnemonic techniques. Reading this it seems clear that "Visualization" is an introduction to this module, and "how to remember whatever you want" is a conclusion, but "Drugs and Vitamins" seems tacked on and completely out of place in this section. It may be relevant to the book, but it does not belong in this section.JeffStickney 00:42, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] I broke the numbers and digits section off into its own module

While its not too long or complicated, it is abstract enough that a reader will not intuitively grasp it at a glance. If it is in its own section it will separated from distractions, and a reader will is less likely to inadvertently scroll away before he or she "gets it". I'd also like to eventually add another module. I know a system that combines this number system with pegwords to memorize playing cards.JeffStickney 01:12, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
