[edit] Rabies
I was under the impression that rabies could be transmitted by pretty much any mammal, not just carnivores. Also, it can be transmitted by rodents:
This link is a story that ran on on the news in my area last week about a girl who was bitten by a rabid ground hog. Ground hogs are in fact members of the rodent family. --Jomegat 20:01, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
- I was under that impression too... I'll change it. Mike.lifeguard 20:03, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
- Beat me to it. Mike.lifeguard 20:04, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Proposed merger with Outdoor Survival
A merger was proposed. I removed the tag since this page is an integral part of First Aid. Nevertheless, contributors to Outdoor Survival or any other wikibook are welcome to use our content. – Mike.lifeguard | talk 14:02, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Plagiarism !
"20:25, 20 Jun 2003 Maveric149 (Killing very un-wiki excess HTML markup and giving credit to the US military so this isn't plagiarism) "
http://worsethanfailure.com/Comments/Umm,_Steve_Got_Lost.aspx?pg=2#132011 Actually the references to "Figure 3" give away the fact it's stll stolen content, just wthout the links ! I think I'll stick to Wikipedia !--195.137.93.171 20:06, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for noting that - it's been fixed; the section is no longer a copyvio. Technically it wasn't anyway, since anything produced by a member of the US government is public domain. – Mike.lifeguard | talk 00:52, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Advanced Training ?
How come bandagng & pulling with tweezers requires Advanced training ?--195.137.93.171 20:06, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
- Those specific skills don't require specialized training - wilderness first aid in general does. As the disclaimer explains, by performing beyond your level of training, you open yourself to liability. This may or may not apply in your region; check what the law says in your area. – Mike.lifeguard | talk 00:53, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
