I don't agree...this is going to be VERY thorough, not general as in the CPU design book.

You should expand the scope and include things like: 1) typical sound spectra; 2) typical sound levels and loudness values; 3) influence of installation. The description of the sound generation mechanisms should be restricted to the ones that apply to electronic cooling fans. Use the material in the last presentations on influence of inflow. Include link to B&K application notes? --me513

I would keep this as a seperate entry, referenced in the "how to build a quiet PC" entry, for those who want to know a little more about the theory. Quiet PC builders will probably be largely content with practical guidance. Also, as the title suggests...merging in this information may obscure it from those interested in cooling things other than PCs
