Perhaps we scrap the sound section, and other undesirables, yes?

Sound has a long history in Electronics components (microphone, speaker). It has bandwidth and serves as a good analogy to light that people can relate to. As for light, well there is radio and TV among other things. I have removed the pop cultural references so this should hopefully address your concerns about undesirables.
