If you wish to include Gabriel Tarde as an initiator of the diffusion of innovation paradigm, then I guess it should be made clear that "innovation" is understood here in a very broad sense, and not only in terms of technology.

I am also surprised to see no reference to the Centre de sociologie de l'innovation of the École des mines (Michel Callon, Madeleine Akrich, Bruno Latour, and the whole "french connection").
