[edit] Data Coding Theory

I have started a new outline for a book that will serve as a continuation of this one, Data Coding Theory. The new book will cover a number of topics specific to binary data encoding, for the purposes of error correction, spectrum spreading, interference reduction and immunity, etc... This new book is an outline only right now, and will likely not be introduced onto a bookshelf for a long time. --Whiteknight (talk) (current) 18:03, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cleanup

I went through and cleaned up this book alot today. I flattened out the book so that we don't have nested page names. This makes linking easier and cleaner. I also went through, and made sure that every page has at least 4 headings in it. If a page has less then 4 headings in it, it won't automatically generate a table of contents. More importantly, if we don't have 4 things to say about a subject, I think the page becomes a good candidate for merging. --Whiteknight (talk) (current) 22:46, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Book split, addition of new material, etc

I would like to split this book into two books, Communication Systems, which will be mostly theoretical, and Communication Technology that will reference the first book to discuss actual implementations and communication standards/protocols. Section 5, section 6, section 7, and section 8 will be split out into the new book. To replace these sections, we will expand the area of data coding, and include new information on channel equalization, adaptive filters, and even some basics of analog signal processing (perhaps the start to a new book in it's own right). If nobody objects to this motion, I would like to start on it this winter break. --Whiteknight (talk) (projects) 16:55, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
