Talk:Coding Cookbook

[edit] Is this okay?

So, I started writing this set of documents, based on lots of code I've got lying around in various places. After some time, I got a remark that this book has got a lot in common with the Source Code project on Wikisource. I checked that location, and after recovering from the shock of so many missing links and such lack of structure, I see that some of the articles there would fit the criteria for this book.

But I am confused. Isn't Wikisource for finished books? It says so on help:How to start a book. While, with the development speed of computer systems, there will always be new "common tasks" to be performed and new practices to perform them. And why is that book there in the Wikisource namespace?

I wouldn't mind delving into that Wikisource project to restructure it, if there is any viability in that. (Since the project is already proposed for deletion.) Is there enough overlap in the two projects? For example, I wouldn't think the various "Hello World" programs have a place in this project, since they don't perform any usable function apart from letting the reading study the language in question.

Any input is appreciated!
