[edit] Typo?

"1 µm Diameter of human nerve cell process" Huh? Why's the word process tacked onto the end there?

I'm not sure of the history, but it is traditional to call the microscopic appendages of neurons "processes"; it is a general term that includes dendrites and axons. see this

[edit] Size of Amoebae

Amoebae are usually much larger than 90 micrometres, if you mean the genus, and show an enormous range in size if you don't, with many much smaller than that listed. What kind of amoebae are you talking about?

The value of 90 µm for an amoeba that was originally in this table had no additional details provided.

This page says Rhizamoeba flabellata has "a very large range of size", they say 50-500 microns.

This page says:

  • The amoebae that most people will be familiar with is Amoeba proteus or Chaos carolinense the so called "giant amoebae".

This protist website says Amoeba proteus can be up to 600 microns.

This page gives several published references for Chaos species in the size range from 700 microns to over 1 mm. JWSurf 13:33, 18 Mar 2004 (UTC)

--According to the Mimivirus wikipedia page, later discovery referenced mimivirus at 800 nm, not 400.
