Instead of using 0KEY through 9KEY, we should use 0F through 9F (The 'F' keys).--Zoohouse 21:15, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Never mind, I miss read the article. :) --Zoohouse 21:28, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] For keyboards without numeric pad

For laptop users: You might have to turn on the "Emulate Numpad" option if you don't have a number pad on your laptop. This is found above the "File," "Add," "Timeline," [etc.] pullout bar under "System and OpenGL" (also called the "User Preferences" bar later on).

I've searched for this for a long time and havent found .... I don't have the "System and OpenGL" bar, only the "User Preferences" bar. Where is this option ???? --Wladston 13:24, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

Found it. Put your mouse cursor just under the bottom edge of the "File" menu bar, and drag down. A new panel will open. Dennis G. Jerz, 12 July 2006.

[edit] More Syntax

Should we include syntax examples for things like menu paths? With so many different users people are constantently using different ways such as:

SPACE→Add→Lamp

SPACE > Add > lamp etc...

and SPACE -> Add -> lamp

So how should we display these paths?

Also some people use 'return' when we seem to have always used ENTER.. hmmm --Kisubo 01:59, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

Yes, i think we should. I like the first one with →.

I also think there should be a global syntax for menu items and values and thelike. This would make them stick out of the text much better and thus the tutorial can be easier referred back to. Like when you've already finished the tutorial before but forgot about a certain function or something. Then it would be easier to find those remarks, if you don't have to read through it again. Using italic letters with quotation marks would be a start (like "File" menu). 84.163.130.119 17:41, 29 March 2006 (UTC) Daniel

[edit] Mac Users without multi-button mice

So now there's a section for Mac single-button mice, but on my iMac, running Blender 2.41, I'm finding what's been written here to be inaccurate; did it change at some point? For me, LMB is regular click, RMB is Apple+click, MMB is Option+click, and I'm fairly certain I haven't changed any of the defaults....

Ok, I looked a bit further, and saw text in the Blender Windowing System page that said part of this. I duplicated it here, but am guessing that it probably shouldn't be in both places.

[edit] Key sequence

It would be fine to add some syntax about key sequence : how to write the CTRL, SHIFT, MKEY sequence ?

I think it should be : CTRL + SHIFT + MKEY ( some people write : CTRL-SHIFT-M ). Others : ALT, MKEY : ALT + MKEY ( some people write : ALT-M ). --N comme Nul 14:57, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Reformated content

I've reformated content to use footnotes on this page, as well as imported in the Non-standard equipment from other chapters. The purpose:

  • To eliminate redundancy, and better overall book content by centralizing niche stuff.
  • To better equip those with non-standard equipment early on

I've also use the wikibook syntax, if someone likes those old orange tables, feel free to add a style-sheet for them. EvanCarroll 17:00, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Mac Command key

On the newer Mac keyboard they have removed the Apple logo form the command key. Since the command key has had this weird character (⌘) on it for so long it might be easier to refer to it by the character itself.
