This page is quite bare. IMHO adding a small thumbnail image of the Interface here would improve it a little.

I think the joke about the simplicity about the user interface is overdone here. Actually the page could be removed completely in my opinion.

Honestly, if all my programs looked and worked like Blender, I'd probably stop using computers. Unless you use it every day, you have to reread tutorials every time you want to use it, because it's so completely backwards and thoroughly unintuitive, and requires so much excessive memorization (because the devs insist on doing everything completely different from other apps, just to be different), that you retain almost no memory of what you learned the last time you tried to use it. On top of that, by the time you get through even just the basics of the interface that are covered in every tutorial, you've wasted so much time already that you're ready to give up and try a 2D solution instead.
It took me less than an hour to figure out how to get around in the GIMP when I first started using it. I've spent about fifty hours, spread out over the past two years, trying to figure out Blender, and I still haven't moved past having to relearn the interface basics every time I start it up. I can go months without using other programs, and never have this kind of trouble remembering the most basic elements of the interface, because their devs have the sense not to ignore every bit of research ever done on computer interface usability. The fact that every tutorial has to start with a long and involved introduction to the Blender interface is a clear indication that there's something seriously wrong with it. -- Rich333 23:40, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

I love the Blender user interface with all my heart, I really do. Blender has really spoiled me with such friendly and extensive interface, that it's really true when I use any other program like Word or Excel or play games I wish the controls were as fluid and extensive as Blender's. Once you learn it and use it for a while you will really appreciate it. Trust me.--Bullercruz1 (talk) 13:11, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
