Talk:Biblical Studies/Christianity/Christian Theology

Organization? How do we organize this topic?
Also, is there interest in a WikiCommentary?
I believe it's imposible to include all of the different ways in which christians see things.
Take just the nature of God, One God or a combination of three? Some christians (me included) don't believe that The Holy Spirit is a person, or they believe that Logos/Jezus/Michael was created by God.
or take the first part of the lord's prayer:
- Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
- What name? Why should it be hallowed?
- Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on Earth, as it is in Heaven.
- What Kingdom? Why would He need a Kingdom? What is His Will for the Earth?
How would anyone be able to write about this without this turning into a editwar? Maybe it would be beter for every one to write their own book and leave it at that? -- Gmlk 21:31, 19 Sep 2004 (UTC)
There are the various theologies at the theology page - Christian, Hindu, etc.
I think it is possible to include a discussion - if people add and not 'edit'? if everyone added their own view it would be comprehensive if organized. most times there are not 12 different views on the personality of the holy spirit for example, there is two - yes or no, permitting it to be concise.
Do we split it into Catholic, Greek Orthodox, Methodist, Presbyterian, Liberal/Progressive, Traditional/Conservative, Fundamentalist, Evangelical, Ecumenical, Feminist, Liberation, etc?
I actually have started a wikicommentary page at wikicommentary.net . Its in a beta stage right now and I haven't completely settled in on a permanent data structure. Go ahead and check it out if you're interested in a wikicommentary. I think it can work. People can write their commentary directly on scripture, simply searching for a passage would retreive all relevant commentary in the database. It would be really cool if the order in which they appear could be randomized also. Anyway I'm just full of ideas right now and they need to be put in place before it will really work. --Stevecrozz 22:38, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
