This book is a guide to using Lists on the Texas Instruments Graphing Calculators. It emphasizes the details as implemented on the TI-83 and TI-84 families of calculators. [edit] Creating Lists

Lists can be created, stored and accessed in several ways. On the Home Screen, simple list operations can be performed. The editor in the STAT menu is used for more comprehensive needs.

A list must have at least one element in it. Trying to work with a list with no elements, will cause an error message.

[edit] Arithmetic with Lists

Arithmetic can be done with lists in a variety of ways. A single item in a list can be used in an arithmetic expression. The operations that are normally used for single numbers can work on lists of numbers. And there are a variety of functions that do list operations on lists.

There are several kinds of functions that use or create lists. These functions are found in the LIST menus. The LIST menus are accessed by the 2nd function of the STAT key. It is just below the DEL key. The functions that create new lists or change existing ones are found in the LIST OPS menu. The functions that do mathematics on a list and give a numeric answer are found in the LIST MATH menu.
