The Gold Coast Sevens Fever Pitch is part of the acclaimed international HSBC Sevens World Series which featured 16 countries around the globe. In October 2012 Queensland Sevens Rugby Festival, the Queensland Reds launched an inaugural business to business (B2B) corporate tag rugby sevens tournament. This event took place Friday October 12, 2012 at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast with the fever pitch occurring the following 13th and 14th of October in Skilled Park. The corporate tag rugby sevens tournament was a one day mock event of the Gold Coast sevens fever pitch tour with the format being 24 corporate teams; each of which paid an entry fee of $2500 for participation, 4 pools of 6 teams play a round-robin with the top team from each pool contesting the semi-finals. The event culminates with the grand final tag sevens title, which each team represented a country that was playing in the actual Gold Coast fever pitch.
