Worship What is worship? (Webster)- Dignity: honor a little of honor religious service, adoration; reverence-To adore to pay divine honor to; to adore Worship means lot things in the world, service, and humbleness, respect ECT what do you worship in life: music, idols, people, ECT... But I want to talk about worship universally, now days our worship is more music and technology . We dont understand the control music and technology has on us everything has that one of the other. Now got allowed certain thing to be apart of the world like music, music was a strong way got moved in the time of Old testaments. Lets look at the structures of the tabernacle or the temple it was a lot of honor and respect there (worship) . There was reason for that because they were serving the creator and the person that created them Now there were consequences for not honoring the Lord(creator). Ex: Cain and Abel in Genesis 4(note: your worship had to be very special to the lord (Abel gave the first of his lamb) and Cain gave from the ground also that it was cursed (Vs 5 of Genesis 4) He was marked with a mark for life (vs 15) Next the person that I was going to present to you was Korah, he was very prideful and disobedient from the door. He wanted a position that wasnt his and he want to cause separation in the congregation or community. He wanted the props for being a Levi and being who he was Number 16:3, 8(he wasnt alone he had Dathan and Abahim with him). ( This reminded me of Satan taking the third of the heavens), The consequence of being prideful and rebellious was in vs28-30 that was the ultimate test it happened and in vs 31-34 and that cause great respect to the lord but not for long. Systematic Theology says that worship is activity of glorification and in his presence with our voices and hearts. There are 2 types of worship I see is in Col. 3:16 1. is keeping his commandments in from of you always or his text (Ps 1:1-2) that show me that you should worship him in the text and because of that is you get to lay in green grass(vs 3) Also the word says Joshua 1:8 that this book of the law( Pentateuch ) shall not shall not depart out of thy mouth: but thou shalt meditate therein day and night , that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous and then thou shalt have good success. The second part that I saw was sing psalm and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God, 2. Let your praise & worship come from the heart and give him thanksgiving unto him (note: let your worship be yours no ones else) Ps.73:25 (Korah son was honest before the Lord and Psalm is a perfect place to see the importance of the honesty) There are many that are trying to be like another Darwin Hobbs or Juanita byumns that not the worship that gods asking for he is asking for your own.
