Sharpe's Devil is a novel written by Bernard Cornwell as part of the Sharpe series based in the Napoleonic Wars. It was first published in 1992.

Ex - Lt. Colonel Richard Sharpe receives a visit from his friend, The Countess of Mouromorto, saying that her husband, Captain-General Blas Vivar, has gone missing in Chile. In 1820, Sharpe reluctantly leaves his home in Normandy with his old sergeant, Patrick Harper, to find Vivar. After meeting up with Vice-Admiral Thomas Cochrane he is kidded into capturing Valdivia for Cochrane before he is able to have his old friend back.

The main supporting characters in the novel, Thomas Cochrane and Bernado O'Higgins, where real people. They were fighting for the liberation of Chile and they later succeeded. As well as this Cochrane was also planning to free Emperor Napoleon so that he could rule South America. A lot of other things are also based on reality.
