Scribus is a semi-professional desktop publishing program that is FLOSS (free/libre/open source software). It is x-platform: There are versions available for GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, OS/2, and Windows. Thus requisites make scribus suitable for minor to medium audience publications, which were designed collaboritively in non-company-structures.

This book is addressed to readers, who are not yet familiar with any DTP-software. Word, OpenOffice respectivly LibreOffice, does not count.
