  • RTOG; 2008 PMID 18559875 -- "Factors Associated With Severe Late Toxicity After Concurrent Chemoradiation for Locally Advanced Head and Neck Cancer: An RTOG Analysis." (Machtay M, J Clin Oncol. 2008 Jun 16. [Epub ahead of print])
    • Retrospective, case control. Review of 3 RTOG trials of concurrent chemo-RT (91-11, 97-03, 99-14) for severe late toxicity with focus on pharyngeal/laryngeal toxicity. 230 patients
    • Outcome: 43% severe late toxicity
    • Predictors: age (OR 1.05 per year), advanced T-stage, larynx/hypopharynx site, neck dissection
    • Conclusion: Severe late toxicity after CCRT is common
