Congratulations! You have taken the first step on the path to becoming a non-smoker! Whichever path you take, you have nothing to lose - if, after 6 weeks, you are still smoking the same number of cigarettes as you are now, what have you lost? Nothing!

There are four common methods of smoking cessation, which may be combined:

Willpower Smoking is stopped, and life goes on. In its purest form, no advice is given.

NRT Nicotine Replacement Therapy is said to be twice as successful as willpower alone in helping smokers quit. However, it can result in dependency on alternative nicotine sources.

Zyban Treatment by a medical professional with a mood stabilizer to help remove cravings and mood swings due to nicotine withdrawal.

Cognitive methods, such as Allen Carr's Easyway, remove the fear of quitting smoking by asking what does the smoker enjoy from each cigarette.

Help from fellow friends: Its is necessary to have a good relationship with our friends, because when we indulge in smoking... friends are the great source in removing this habit.
