1. The man was suffering from hiccups and the bartender was trying a shock treatment to it, instead of the traditional (but very effective) treatment of a glass of water.
2. The man asked for a shot of water, so the bartender pulled out a watergun.
3. The man was on fire.
4. The man walks away. This means the bartender didn´t shoot. Thus, he is thanking him for that (he was the lover of the bartender´s wife, and the bartender found it, yet did not kill him).
