With an LC series when Z_L - Z_C = 0 V_C + V_L = 0 circuit is said to be in resonance

Z_L = Z_C
\omega L = \frac{1}{\omega C}
\omega = \sqrt{\frac{1}{L}{C}}
V_C = - V_L

Circuit is capable of producing a Standing Wave Oscillation Therefore , LC can be used as Standing Wave Oscillator with fruency of oscillation equals to resonance frequency

f = \frac{1}{2\pi} \sqrt{\frac{1}{LC}}
