A very common issue with Slack for me is the problems with scroll wheel configuration, and more serious, the inability for netconfig to successfully attach DHCP to my eth1 interface. Although, this may be caused by the 3 NICs that I have installed, and the natural tendency to use eth0. The scroll wheel issue is solved in the "xorg.conf" file. [More later on this] The DHCP issue is resolved by editing the "[i forget]" file and manually entering an IP, gateway and mask. The true issue may be to edit the rc.modules and uncomment the modprobe for the NIC driver, but I am looking into that for my specific case.
