Norwegian/Months and Weekdays
From Wikibooks, the open-content textbooks collection
The names of the months in Norwegian are rather similar to those in English, because both languages have taken the names from Latin. In Norwegian, however, the names of the months do not begin with a capital letter, except when the name comes first in a sentence (as it is for all words).
| Norwegian | English |
|---|---|
| januar | January |
| februar | February |
| mars | March |
| april | April |
| mai | May |
| juni | June |
| juli | July |
| august | August |
| september | September |
| oktober | October |
| november | November |
| desember | December |
The weekdays in norwegian are as follows, and like the names of the months, do not begin with a capital letter:
| Norwegian | English |
|---|---|
| mandag | Monday |
| tirsdag | Tuesday |
| onsdag | Wednesday |
| torsdag | Thursday |
| fredag | Friday |
| lørdag | Saturday |
| søndag | Sunday |
