The purpose of this text is to produce a reliable and free textbook, specifically tailored towards the needs of students studying NCEA Level 1 Science. It provides a practical alternative to standard textbooks, complete with exercises and worked examples. This textbook should be useful as a revision guide or to find alternative explanations to those found in textbooks.

This book is based on the New Zealand Qualifications Authority specification for NCEA Level 1 Science examinations, and will aim to make the subject as easy as possible to understand, by creating a familiar atmosphere between the reader and the book, and will aim to use simplified pictures and guided learning to achieve exam success.
