So, you want to shoot smooth slow motion? Almost all celuloid cameras can shoot at high frame rates but its still a rareity on video. But not impossible. Here's how it's done:

Contents

[edit] Panasonic VariCam

A Panasonic VariCam on sticks
  • Shoots DVCproHD
  • Up to 60fps

[edit] Panasonic AG-HVX200

  • Some variable frame rates in 720p mode

[edit] Cine SpeedCam by Band Pro Isn't this blatant advertising?

  • prismless CMOS imager with a resolution of 1536x1024
  • up to 1000fps at 1536x1024
  • up to 10,000fps at lower resolutions
  • images rendered as uncompressed TIFF images or AVI formats

=High frame rate capture on celluloid= Shouldn't film be on top since it's been around the longest and is still being used?

Most celluloid cameras can run up to at least 50FPS. The Arri SR3 High Speed can run up to 150FPS. Visual Instrumentation in Lancaster Calfornia has been an industry leader for the past quarter century in slow motion film cameras that run into the several thousand plus frames per second.

Slow motion filmming has been used to study how objects deconstruct upon impact. These impact deconstruction studies have been used to incorporate higher safety standards in many products used in the transporting of human life.
