The Isle of Arran is often described as 'Scotland in Miniature', offering the scenary of the Scottish Highlands and Lowlands on one Island.

Lamlash is the main settlement on Arran. It has a bowling green, beach, medical centre and the school.

Best Beach on the Island. The original Mill manufactured pirns (bobbins) for the cotton industry. It exported worldwide. The mill has been converted to apartments and the adjoining Cottage has been rebuilt and caters for Bed amd Breakfast tourists.
Pirnmill has a cafe (The Lighthouse) and a Post Office/General store. Note - there is no actual lighthouse at Pirnmill.
