  • The first meter was installed in 1950.
  • All stamps are inscribed “SUDAN” in the frank.

1. Universal “MultiValue” (MV).

Upright frank with single line, simulated perforation frame.
Country name in panel at top and “POSTAGE” in panel at bottom.
“MILLS” below left of value figures.
Value figures of variable thickness.
M# with “U” prefix in boxes lower corners.

Very similar to Type 1, but with “M/Ms” below left of value figures.
The lines of the value figures are of uniform thickness.

As Type 1 but smaller frank and with much wider spacing.
