Hey, as you can see on the image, there's a bug with actual PDF version (Media:Ada Programming.pdf). The Fonts used in this file seem not to work under Linux. Does anybody can fix it? MonteChristof 17:40, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
- I have no problems with the current PDF version in Linux. Probably the document is using a font that you don't have. Have you tried both with xpdf and Acrobat Reader. Maybe we can help you if you give us more information about what specific software are you using. Do you have problems also with the previous versions accessible from the file history? The problem is that you are not including customised fonts to files it they are shifted-out. Mostly on platforms I checked gives a problem. So PDF files should contain non-standard fonts saved in it - you ought to implicate that other users have no such fonts. I'm using Debian and Feodora, and problem is common for all PDFreaders, and i have no idea what kind of font I should to download - because its not Written in document. - I don't know how to solve the problem, because I'm just making a PDF print-out using Mozilla and CUPS PDF writer. I think Krischik, the author of the previous version, was also taking a similar approach. I've uploaded a new version with Mozilla configured with the default serif and sans serif fonts, but I'm not sure whether that will solve the problem. Otherwise, don't worry too much, this print edition will be probably replaced by one generated from LaTeX input: Image:Dragontamer_Ada.pdf, which probably gives a more portable result.
