[edit] Hypnosis
Mesmer’s technique, known as mesmerism, is regarded as an early forerunner of modern hypnosis. It is a method employed by many therapists to induce another state of consciousness, described by clients as being like a kind of "waking sleep". It is used as a medium from which suggestions can be given more easily, and is induced with an induction, either formal or informal.
