Economics is a study of human behavior. To be more precise, economics studies the individual choices made by people to allocate rare resources or the interactions made by people to other people. It not only studies the businesses' and consumers' choices, it also stuides the everday choices made by other people. An economist studies how people make choices based on limited resources.
