The skeletal system provides internal organs protection against accidental damage caused by external forces. It is also the site of cell production for example the bone marrow inside the hip bones produces white blood cells. There are 206 bones in the human body and 2 sections the axial skeleton (the trunk of our body) and the appendicular skeleton (our limbs).
